Grapes come from vineyard Mojon Alto plot 56 and vineyard El Grito plot 54. These vineyards are located in San Asensio at an altitude of 610 meters and were planted in 1982 Also some grapes come from Cantoblanco, located in Sotes, at an altitude of 730 meters and were planted in 1960

80% Tempranillo, 10% Graciano, 7% Mazuelo, 3% Viura. Hand-picked harvesting. 100% de-stemmed grapes. Fermentation under controlled temperature in stainless steel tanks. 18 months aging in French oak barrels.
AROMA: Complex and aromatic nose with blackfruit, vanilla, chocolate and mineral due to its terroir
PALATE: Well structured, fresh, long, tasty and unctuous. Excellence in mouth. Well integrated scent of fruit and oak in its body
COLOUR: Red ruby colour. Clean, intense and shiny
VOLUME: 750ml
ABV: 14%

Good to drink it now or to age it for at least 5 years

Grapes come from vineyard La Padul plot 667 located in Sotes, at an altitude of 700 meters and were planted in 1920. Soil is mostly clayey-calcareous but also alluvial and ferrous

90% Tempranillo, 7% Graciano and 3% Viura. Hand-picked harvesting. Fermentation under controlled temperature in stainless steel tanks. 36 months aging in American-French oak barrels
AROMA: Elegant and complex aromas with a touch of vanilla and ripe fruits lightly toasted.
PALATE: Broad and powerful in mouth, with great balance and elegance. Subtle and velvety
COLOUR: Dark cherry colour. Intense and bright.
VOLUME: 750ml
ABV: 14%

Good to drink it now or to age it for at least 10 years

MARQUES DE TOMARES

With a family grape growing history since 1886, Don Román Montaña founded the winery Marqués de Tomares in 1910, and it is still operated by his grandchildren who continue to maintain the wineries tradition both in the winery and in the estate’s vineyards. With nearly 106 hectares of family owned vineyards, many of which more than 100 years old, spotted throughout Rioja Alta in Haro, Fuenmayor and the surrounding areas, careful viticulture and longtime partnerships with local farmers lend to the precise identity of Marqués de Tomares. The winery is still releasing small amounts of Reserva and Gran Reserva wines in various formats from time to time.

Rioja

The origin of Spanish winemaking, Rioja has been the benchmark for Spanish wines in the international market for over two hundred years, and remains so to this day. Tempranillo is the star of the red wines here, though its expression can vary wildly from producer to producer. Traditionally-styled Riojas tend to be subtle and soft, and often have high levels of acidity to ensure their survival through the lengthy ageing process. The more modern producers are making powerful, dark, fruit-driven, tannic wines – often with a pronounced use of new French oak.
